James is a charismatic and versatile professional dancer, director/choreographer & educator. James’s style is a combination of his love for Jazz & Musical Theatre alongside his extensive training in both the contemporary and commercial industries. 

 

James' experience in all areas of the industry at multiple levels leaves him with a expansive and detailed skillset. From choreography and movement direction to musical direction and arranging to costume, lighting and set design, James provides a 360 degree view of the creation process and is a passionate, empathetic and driven leader.

 

James most recently was the Assistant Choreographer of Into Opera's 'Carmen' and before that Directed and Choreographed 'Saucy Jacks & The Space Vixens' at the Institute for Contemporary Theatre.

 

James assisted in the development of pioneering Jazz company House of Jazz founded by Christie Lee Manning, a company that curated and facilitates a 4 week Artist Development Program for professional Jazz artists alongside many other training opportunities collaborating with educators from both London and New York including the likes of Richard J Hinds, Al Blackstone, Diane Laurenson, Alan Burkitt and Jacqui Jameson. House of Jazz’s sister production company Jazz House Theatre also premiered an all-jazz dance production in 2018 called “Welcome To The Grand - An international journey through historical cabaret” which James co-directed and choreographed alongside the company’s artistic director.
